Cuba Visa Information

Tourist Entry Rules & Visitor Visa Options for Traveling to Cuba

Cuba is a unique Caribbean destination famous for its colonial architecture, vintage cars, lively music scene, and stunning beaches. Most travelers visiting Cuba for tourism must obtain a Tourist Card (Tarjeta del Turista), which serves as a permit for short stays and must be arranged before arrival through airlines, travel agencies, or Cuban consulates.

The Tourist Card typically allows a stay of up to 30 days, with the option to extend once for an additional 30 days while inside Cuba. Travelers usually need a valid passport, proof of accommodation, and return or onward flight details when applying for the card.

Yes — except for citizens of a small number of visa-exempt countries, most international travellers must obtain a visa before traveling to Cuba.

Cuba offers an e-Visa system via its official portal, which replaces the old physical tourist card for most travellers. After approval, you must also complete the required online arrival/travel form (commonly referred to as “D’Viajeros”) shortly before travel.

A standard tourist e-Visa allows a stay of up to 90 days, which can often be extended for another 90 days if needed.
