Entry & Tourist Visa Options for Visiting Egypt

Egypt is a world-famous travel destination, known for its ancient monuments, the Nile River, Red Sea resorts, and rich cultural heritage. For many travellers, visiting Egypt requires a valid visa — but multiple convenient options exist, depending on your nationality and travel plans.

For short trips, you can either apply for an e-Visa before traveling or opt for a Visa on Arrival (VoA) at major airports and border crossings. The typical tourist visa — whether e-Visa or on-arrival — allows a stay of up to 30 days. To apply, travellers need a passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of arrival, a blank visa page in the passport, and sometimes additional documents such as return-ticket proof, hotel booking, or travel itinerary.

If you’re travelling from India (given your background), note that you may get visa-on-arrival or e-Visa under certain conditions — such as holding a valid visa or residence permit from selected countries, or travelling as part of a confirmed tourist group via a licensed agency.

Yes — Estonia is part of the Schengen Area, so a valid Schengen visa (or visa-free status for eligible nationals) allows entry to Estonia and other Schengen countries under the same rules.

You need a short-stay Schengen Visa (Type C) for tourism, business, or similar short visits. This visa lets you stay up to 90 days within any 180-day period.

Generally you must submit a completed visa application form, a valid passport (issued within last 10 years, with at least 2 blank visa pages and valid for at least three months beyond your planned stay) and a recent passport-size photo.
