The Maldives, renowned for its crystal-blue waters, luxury resorts, and tropical islands, offers one of the most traveler-friendly entry systems in the world. All nationalities are eligible for a Visa on Arrival, typically granting a 30-day stay for tourism at no cost.

To receive the Visa on Arrival, travelers must present a valid passport, proof of accommodation (such as resort booking), and a return or onward ticket. Visitors may also need to show sufficient funds for the duration of their stay. The process is simple and completed upon arrival at Malé International Airport.

For those wishing to stay longer, visa extensions are available and can extend the stay up to 90 days total. Travelers planning non-tourism activities—such as work, study, or long-term residence—must apply for the appropriate permit before or during their stay.
