Many nationalities can enter visa-free for stays of up to 90 days, but they must obtain an NZeTA (New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority) before boarding their flight or cruise.

Travelers who are not eligible for visa-free entry can apply for a Visitor Visa, which typically allows tourism, family visits, and short courses for up to 3–9 months. Applicants generally need a valid passport, proof of funds, return travel plans, and evidence of accommodation or itinerary details.For those wishing to stay longer or explore specific opportunities, New Zealand also offers Working Holiday Visas, Family Visitor Visas, and Business Visitor Visas. Step 2

Review & Submission

Step 3

Receive Visa Grant

Once approved by the Australian immigration authorities, your official visa grant letter will be issued through the official channel. We will notify you of the outcome so you can prepare to carry and present it at the port of entry.

General Information

Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date in NEW ZEALAND
An NZeTA request costs NZD $17 on our free app, or NZD $23 if completed online
NZeTA is mandatory for all travellers including visa exempted countries
If you are entering New Zealand you must also pay an IVL, which funds tourism infrastructure and helps protect our natural environment
You pay the IVL at the same time as you request your NZeTA

Yes. Those already in the country can apply for a Visitor Visa extension, depending on eligibility and supporting documents. Extensions are not automatic and depend on reasons for prolonging the stay.

While not legally mandatory, immigration officers may ask for proof of sufficient funds, and travel insurance is strongly recommended. Some travellers (like students) may be required to carry insurance under specific visa rules.
